Friday Night Dinner: Sausage Part 2


As explained in a previous post Friday night is sausage night! There are just so many times I can eat sausage with onions, pepper, and mustard or sausage with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. For the next couple of Friday nights I've decided to get a little creative.

This time I decided to use the breakfast sausage (that we haven't even touched yet ... I know). I use 'recipe' loosely but it was as simple as:

  • Ciabatta roll *
  • Breakfast sausage
  • Over-easy egg
  • Cheese
  • Ketchup (if you're feeling fancy)

*As shown in the picture, since the ciabatta roll was rather thick I decided to scrap out some of the dough. Personal preference really but this allowed the sausage to lay in there rather nice and I could add the egg on top and still close the sandwich.

So simple, but this one get's a round of applause. Success! This was the best idea! Who doesn't love breakfast for dinner. This was our first time trying the breakfast sausages and they turned out wonderful; a nice hint of brown sugar. I'm gonna have a hard time not just repeating this for next Friday.
